We are hands-on CDL Training School. We train six days a week. Saturday thru Thursday. Every day, except Fridays. We train –

We have a flexible training schedule for those working full time, part-time and are in between jobs. We also have Saturdays & Sundays training sessions.

Getting your CDL has NEVER been EASIER! It is a two-step process: 1st step is getting your CLP – Commercial Learner's Permit. And the second step is getting your CDL – Commercial Driver’s License.

You will have to pass four (4) computerized multiple choice questions tests by scoring at least 80% on each section at the DPS – Department of Public Safety. The four sections for the tests are:

  • Special Requirements for Texas Commercial Rules – 20 Questions
  • General Knowledge – 50 Questions
  • Combinations – 25 Questions
  • Air Brakes – 25 Questions

No problem. TruckSmart CDL Academy will coordinate the process. We will find you an appointment where you only wait for one to two weeks – that is the time you need to study the material for the CLP – Commercial Learner's Permit test.

No. You only need an appointment the 1st time. All other times that you need to take the test or retake the test, you can go to any DPS, anywhere at any time in the state of Texas. Simply walk-in for continuation.

You get three (3) attempts for each section of the test before starting over.

Yes. According to the new rule changes as of February 7th, 2022, ALL CDL students must go to school registered with the FMCSA - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration like ours and obtain the ELDT – Entry Level Driver Training course.

NOTE: You can complete the ELDT Theory online course for $25.00. through our vendor – and you will complete the road and range (the Driving & the Maneuvering Skills) portions with TruckSmart CDL Academy.

Depending on your availability, once you have your CLP - Commercial Learner's Permit, we can get you your CDL within ONE WEEK through our accelerated courses. Yes, ONE WEEK! With no shortcuts provided that you're able to commit full-time and can train up to 5 days of that week. Furthermore, if you are working part-time or full-time, depending on your learning pace, time and effort you input, it could take two to 4 weeks.

You must be at least Eighteen years of age, (18) for Intra State, within your state only until Twenty-one (21) years of age, then can drive interstate, anywhere in the US. United States.

Class A CDL Automatic. Almost ALL trucks on the road are Automatic. With manual CDL however, you will be able to drive both Automatic and Manual. And yes, we train both.

The CDL test is a 2-hour long process. It is a three-parts test. (1) Pre-trip vehicle inspections – PTVI - 30 minutes. (2) Maneuvers - straight line backing, offset backing (right or left), and parallel parking – (sight side or blind side) 30 minutes. On-road Driving (1) one hour.

Yes. Trucks more CDL Academy will issue a certificate of completion and yes major trucking companies who hire new drivers with zero experience do recruit from us. These companies include but are not limited to Swift, Schneider, TransAM, C.R. England just to name a few.
